September: a beautiful month for a drive

Some states have recognized the importance of high school voter registration by creating special high school voter registration weeks.  California has designated the last two weeks of September and the last two weeks of April as official High School Voter Education Weeks.  Nevada has designated the last full week of September as a special Voter Registration Week.  Even if your state has no officially designated week set aside for high schools to focus on voter registration, your school can create a week on its own.  Just ask, and then make it happen.

September 25, 2018 is National Voter Registration Day.  If you are in a state that hasn’t yet designated a week or two to the effort, a voter registration drive on this day is a great place to start!

Mayors around the country are getting involved.

Schools do not need to wait.
