KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
Did you know you can pre-register to vote in High School?
It’s true! 50% of teens live in states where they can pre-register at 16 (or earlier). Another 20% can do so around 17. Almost all the rest are old enough to do so before they graduate, making High School the time and place to get it done.
When you pre-register, you can start voting as soon as you turn 18 — no extra hassle! For details on your state, consult our map.
BE THE CATALYST
Voter registration drives in High School can close the gap
School-based, non-partisan drives empower teens where they are — every day, surrounded by trusted adults and peers. They also reach the 40% of students who won’t go to college and might otherwise miss out.
Most importantly, they give every American multiple opportunities to get ready to vote before they step into adulthood, leading to a larger and more representative electorate.
