Young Voters Face Too Many Barriers

A little-known fact of American democracy is that most high school students are old enough to register to vote before they graduate. But our systems are so user-unfriendly that only 30 percent of 18-year-olds make it onto the voter rolls in a typical midterm year.  

I’m grateful to US News & World Report for giving me the space to explore why and how we need to do better at empowering young voters to make their voices heard.
